Double Devon Cream is a dense cream made from pasteurized cream, with a butterfat content of 48 percent. This cream can be spooned straight from the jar on to fruit, scones muffins or warm apple pie. It is also ideal for use in pasta and sauces.

The region of Devon in Southwest England is known for its lovely clotted creams. This Double Cream has a butterfat content of 48%, and is silky and golden-yellow. Traditionally unpasteurized, our cream is pasteurized cow’s milk (traditionally from Jersey cows) that sits in shallow vats until a thick, rich cream rises to the top. The cream that rises to the surface and “clots” is skimmed off and served with scones, berries, or desserts. The best clotted cream is said to have a good, firm crust atop smooth, thick cream. Clotted cream originated in Southwest England (either in Cornwall or Devon, depending on who you ask)
