Gourda is a traditional, mild and semi-soft cheese of Dutch origin. It is named after the city of Gouda in the Netherlands. Castello Gouda is made with homogenized part-skim milk and is a sweet-curd cheese similar to the Edam it contains more fat. Pleasantly cream, full-flavored with a nutty, butter flavor and touch of sweetness. Gouda can be enjoyed on its own or a great mild addition to any cheeseboard. Because of the mild nature, this can be added as an ingredient in any cheese dish.
