It has the smooth creamy texture of a young Dutch Gouda and the nutty, sweet, buttery flavors of aged Parmesan. The semi-hard cheese is therefore sometimes described as a balance between Gouda and Parmesan. Invented forty years ago and named after a small Umbrian village, Italy. Parrano adds something special to your cheese plate. Full of flavor yet still approachable, this cheese is a must have for entertaining, whether it’s a happy hour at home or a big celebration. Pairs well with: fig jam, prosciutto, marinated artichokes, roasted peppers and a crisp Lager or spicy Syrah.
