Finocchiona Fennel Salami
Finocchiona originated in the Renaissance, and possibly even before, in the Late Middle Ages. The use of fennel was as an alternative to pepper (a key ingredient of the standard salami), which was very expensive at the time. This authentic Italian salami is a Product of Italy, traditionally cured in the Parma region, and seasoned with fennel seeds, garlic, and natural spices. These salamis are peeled, vacuum packed and HPP processed before exporting to US. The salamis are sliced and packed in a USDA inspected facility in Lakewood, NJ, and are packaged in MAP trays. Enjoy this salami by itself, on a charcuterie board paired with goat cheese, or on a pizza or sandwich.
