Hemme Brothers Creamery is a Farmstead Creamery. We grow the forage we feed to the cows. Our crops are grown in a regenerative agriculture system. This allows us to sell carbon credits to corporations. Raise all of our replacement heifers from birth to calving. Heifers are raised in a pasture setting for these two years. We graze the milking herd when the weather and season allows. In 2025 we will be starting a Voluntary Milking System where cow decide when they want to be milked. This requires the use of robotic milking equipment. The milk is then transferred to creamery to be turned into one of our cheeses.
